Most people with headaches who seek Dr. Jere’s care leave Family Life Chiropractor pain free after just one visit. For a severe chronic condition, it might take a couple of months to fully treat the problem, but the headaches will lessen as treatment progresses.

However, no matter how severe your headache is, Dr. Jere will discover the cause of the problem and then handle it with his gentle chiropractic care and a nutritional program.

What’s the difference between a headache and a Migraine?

Dr. Jere can have you pain-free in no time.

An acute headache is one that occurs suddenly like a blow to the head and is immediately of maximum severity. A chronic headache is considered to be one that occurs for 15 days or more a month, for at least three months.

A migraine is a recurrent throbbing headache that usually affects one side of the head and is often accompanied by disturbed vision, vomiting and nausea. Migraine attacks can cause severe pain that can last several hours and up to three days.

Conventional Headache treatment

Medical doctors usually prescribe pain-killers for headaches, often with increased strength or dosage should the headache becomes chronic. But pain-killers are highly addictive and can have other unhealthy side effects as well.

The cause of headaches

About 85% of headaches are a result of the muscles in the jaw, neck or head tightening due to misalignment of the bones in the neck or head or, most especially, the jaw bone.

Tension in the jaw, and the resulting tension radiating from the jaw, also contribute to migraines by restricting blood flow.

Locating the exact source of your Headache

Dr. Jere will pin-point exactly what that reason is for your headache and get you healthy and pain-free. To make sure that he makes the most accurate diagnosis, he will take a comprehensive approach to your headache pain.

He’ll listen to your headache concerns, study your medical and lifestyle history, and then use diagnostic tests to get to the root cause of your headache problem. As needed he will recommend further tests to establish the correct diagnosis.

Treatment that gets results

About 85% of headaches are the result of misalignments of the bones in the jaw, neck or head.

Depending on his diagnosis, Dr. Jere will balance your jaw or other muscles through adjustments, massage and muscle work. He provides nutritional counseling and may recommend a change in diet and the addition of supplements to fight headaches.

Additionally, he offers advice on posture, ergonomics, exercises and stress management techniques to aid in headache relief.

Dr. Jere has undergone extensive training to help his patients in many ways above and beyond back and neck pain relief. He knows how tension in the spine relates to problems in other parts of the body, like the head, and he can take steps to address those problems using natural pain relief methods and nutritional programs.
